Blue Coats outlast Skyhawks 155-140 despite Dennis’ historic night

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — The Delaware Blue Coats defeated the College Park Skyhawks 155-140 in a high-scoring matchup, earning a split in the teams’ two-game series.

RayJ Dennis delivered a record-setting performance for College Park (4-8), finishing with 46 points, 15 assists, five rebounds and four steals in 37 minutes. According to the team, he became the first player in NBA G League history to post those numbers in a single game. Dennis also tied the franchise single-game scoring record of 46 points.

Kobe Johnson added 27 points for the Skyhawks after scoring 17 in the first half. He has scored at least 15 points in eight of his last nine games.

College Park led 39-35 after the first quarter behind 15 points and six assists from Dennis. The Skyhawks extended the lead to 79-73 at halftime after outscoring Delaware in the second quarter. Dennis had 24 first-half points.

Delaware (6-5) responded with 43 points in the third quarter to take a 116-113 lead entering the fourth. Johni Broome scored 15 points in the period and finished with a career-high 50 points and 17 rebounds.

The Blue Coats pulled away midway through the fourth quarter with a 16-2 run, building their first double-digit lead of the game. Delaware led by as many as 16 points down the stretch.

Kennedy Chandler added 25 points and 14 assists for the Blue Coats, and Malcolm Hill scored 26.
