Clemson Women’s Basketball Defeats Florida State 77–58 Behind Thompson’s Strong Performance
CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson Tigers women's basketball used a balanced attack and strong defense to pull away from the Florida State Seminoles women's basketball for a convincing 77–58 victory Sunday afternoon at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Senior forward Raven Thompson led Clemson with 18 points and eight rebounds, setting the tone offensively while helping the Tigers control the glass throughout the afternoon. Clemson improved to 16–7 overall and 7–4 in ACC play with the win.
The Tigers established momentum early. Clemson opened the game with a quick 21–15 first-quarter advantage and continued to pressure Florida State defensively, forcing difficult shots and turning stops into transition opportunities. By halftime, Clemson had built a 42–27 lead and never allowed the Seminoles to mount a serious comeback.
Clemson’s inside presence proved decisive. Hannah Kohn and Mia Moore added key scoring runs while Clemson’s defense held Florida State to just 58 points on the afternoon.
Florida State guard Sole Williams led all scorers with 23 points, but the Seminoles struggled to find consistent offensive support against Clemson’s physical defense.
Clemson maintained its composure down the stretch, closing the game with disciplined half-court offense and strong rebounding to secure the ACC victory.
