College Park Skyhawks Host Throwback Thursday With Denim Jerseys and Goodwill Partnership
The College Park Skyhawks are turning back the clock — and adding a stylish twist — when they host Throwback Thursday on Feb. 26 against Raptors 905.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gateway Center Arena, and the night promises much more than just basketball.
In partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia, the Skyhawks are blending basketball, fashion and community impact for a unique fan experience centered around sustainability and opportunity.
Denim Jerseys Take Center Stage
For one night only, the Skyhawks will hit the court in custom denim-inspired uniforms designed specifically for the event.
The jerseys feature a classic denim look with colorful patchwork along the sides, stitched lettering and numbers, and Goodwill branding on the front and back. The design reflects the theme of giving old items new life — a concept that mirrors both the throwback style and Goodwill’s mission.
The bold look is expected to be one of the most unique uniforms the Skyhawks have worn this season.
Fans Can Shop, Donate and Customize Denim
The celebration won’t stop at the court.
Fans inside Gateway Center Arena will be able to visit a Goodwill Denim Pop-Up Shop, where they can browse vintage denim pieces and have them customized on-site to create one-of-a-kind designs.
In addition, donation bins will be available both inside and outside the arena. Fans who donate gently used clothing will receive two tickets to a future Skyhawks game, making it easy to support the community while enjoying a night of basketball.
Partnership Focused on Community Impact
The Skyhawks’ partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia has grown steadily over the past several years through initiatives that extend well beyond game night.
“Partnering with Goodwill of North Georgia has allowed us the chance to create unique experiences with our fans while supporting people in our community,” said Janice Koon, senior vice president of NBA G League and 2K League operations for the Atlanta Hawks.
“Whether through donating clothes or engaging with the Goodwill team at the Pop-Up Shop, Throwback Thursday gives fans a fun way to support sustainability and opportunity.”
Together, the organizations have hosted Job Shadowing Nights, donation drives at Skyhawks games, and educational programs like Curriculum Night at West Clayton Elementary School, where families connected with career resources through a mobile career center.
Supporting Job Training Across North Georgia
Goodwill of North Georgia operates across a 45-county region, with more than 100 stores and donation centers, 14 career centers and a mobile career center providing job training and placement services at no cost.
These programs serve veterans, individuals with disabilities, single parents, youth and others looking for meaningful employment opportunities.
“For nearly three years, Goodwill and the Skyhawks have partnered to create real opportunities for people in our community,” said Keith Parker, president and CEO of Goodwill of North Georgia.
“Throwback Thursday is a fun and creative way to highlight our mission to put people to work while promoting sustainability.”
Between the basketball, the denim designs and the community focus, the night promises to be one of the most memorable events on the Skyhawks’ calendar.
