Jacksonville, FL | AUG 16, 2025– Edward Waters University football is making headlines with the addition of veteran coach Eric Dooley to its staff for the upcoming season. Assistant Coach Eric Dooley

Dooley, a familiar name in HBCU football, most recently served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Grambling State University in 2024. Before that, he led Southern University (2021) and Prairie View A&M University (2017) as head coach, earning respect for his offensive-minded approach and ability to recruit talent.

Although his tenure at Grambling ended after a disappointing season, Dooley now sees Edward Waters as an opportunity to reset and refocus his coaching journey. Partnering with Jenkins — best known for his successful run at Bethune-Cookman, where he won multiple MEAC titles — the duo is expected to bring energy, discipline, and a renewed sense of purpose to the EWU Tigers.

The Tigers, who continue to make their mark in the SIAC, could become one of the most intriguing storylines in HBCU football this season. With Jenkins leading the charge and Dooley injecting offensive expertise, Edward Waters is aiming to build momentum and compete at a higher level.

For Dooley, this stop represents more than just another coaching role — it’s a chance to reignite his coaching legacy and help propel Edward Waters into the HBCU football conversation in a major way.
