Ja’Marr Chase Suspended One Game for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK — November 17, 2025 — The National Football League today announced that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been suspended one game without pay for committing an act of unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The disciplinary action follows an incident in the fourth quarter in which Chase spit on Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey, a violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1 of the NFL rulebook. The rule prohibits “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”
Chase will be eligible to rejoin the Bengals’ active roster on Monday, November 24, after the team’s Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots on November 23.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Chase has the right to appeal the suspension. Any appeal will be reviewed and decided by one of the jointly appointed on-field discipline hearing officers: Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, or Jordy Nelson.
