Morehouse Defeats Miles 71–56 to Reach SIAC Men’s Basketball Championship

MORROW, Ga. — The Morehouse Maroon Tigers men’s basketball punched their ticket to the championship game of the 2026 SIAC Men's Basketball Tournament with a commanding 71–56 victory over the Miles Golden Bears on March 6 at the Clayton County Convocation Center.

Morehouse used balanced scoring and strong defensive pressure to control the game from start to finish.

Guard Sincere Moore led the Maroon Tigers with 19 points, while Josiah Lawson added 18 points in a standout performance that helped create separation in the second half.

Miles stayed competitive early, but Morehouse gradually pulled away with disciplined ball movement and a series of key defensive stops. The Maroon Tigers built momentum midway through the second half with a scoring run that extended their lead into double digits.

The victory sent the No. 1 seed Morehouse squad into the SIAC championship game, where the Maroon Tigers would face Tuskegee with the conference title and NCAA Division II tournament berth on the line.
