NC State Men’s Basketball Releases 2026-27 Schedule

The Wolfpack will play 32 regular-season games as Justin Gainey begins his first season as head coach

RALEIGH, N.C. — A new era of NC State basketball now has a schedule.

The Wolfpack released its 2026-27 men's basketball schedule Sept. 9, with first-year head coach Justin Gainey set to lead the program through a 32-game regular season that includes 18 contests in Raleigh.

NC State will open the season with four consecutive home games at Lenovo Center against Campbell, ETSU, Presbyterian and Troy before heading to Nassau, Bahamas, for the Baha Mar Championship. The Wolfpack will face Murray State on Nov. 19 and then play either Seton Hall or Wisconsin the following day.

The nonconference slate also features South Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge, a road matchup with Tennessee in Nashville and a Tobacco Road Classic meeting with North Carolina in Greensboro on Dec. 15.

ACC play begins Dec. 29 at Miami. The Wolfpack will host Clemson, Pitt, SMU, Wake Forest, Florida State, Boston College, California, Notre Dame and Louisville during conference play. NC State will also travel to North Carolina, Georgia Tech, California, Stanford, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Duke and Virginia.

The season brings several notable matchups, but the Dec. 15 meeting with North Carolina stands out. The game will mark the first regular-season meeting between the Tobacco Road rivals in Greensboro since 1979.

The 2027 ACC Tournament is scheduled for March 9-13 at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro.

For Gainey, who returned to his alma mater after being named NC State's head coach in March, the schedule officially puts the next chapter of Wolfpack basketball on the calendar.
