The NFL and EA SPORTS are leveling up opportunities for HBCU students this winter. Their annual Madden NFL x HBCU Tournament is back, offering more than just gaming bragging rights.

Four talented students will win the ultimate prize: a trip to Orlando during the 2025 Pro Bowl Games Week. But this isn't just about winning. It's a chance to peek behind the curtain of professional sports gaming.

Registration is now open for passionate gamers across historically black colleges and universities. Online qualifiers will run through January, testing players' skills and strategy in Madden NFL 25.

"This program celebrates the intersection of culture, sports, and gaming," said Ed Kiang, NFL's vice president of video gaming. The tournament does more than crown a champion. It opens doors for future careers in sports entertainment.

Participants will compete in multiple online qualifier rounds. The top performers will battle in elimination rounds, with four finalists earning their spot in Orlando. These lucky students will go behind the scenes at EA SPORTS, meeting employees and exploring potential career paths.

The tournament schedule breaks down like this:

- Online Qualifiers: Dec. 20-21, Jan. 3-4, Jan. 10-11

- Last Chance Qualifier: Jan. 12

- Elimination Rounds: Jan. 18-19

- Final Event: Jan. 28-Feb. 1

For HBCU students passionate about gaming and sports, this is more than a tournament. It's a launching pad for future opportunities in an exciting, dynamic industry.

Game on, students. Your moment is calling.
