Rams and Seahawks Set for NFC Championship Showdown with Super Bowl on the Line

SEATTLE — The Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks will clash Sunday at Lumen Field in the NFC Championship Game, with a berth in Super Bowl LX waiting for the winner.

The Seahawks secured the NFC’s top seed and a home game with a dominant 41-6 divisional win over the San Francisco 49ers, showcasing strong rushing and defensive performance heading into the conference title.

Seattle’s path this season has been marked by a potent defense and a balanced offense led by quarterback Sam Darnold, who has steadied the team throughout the playoffs. The Seahawks have embraced their role as favorites and now seek to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2014 season, when they advanced under the “Legion of Boom” era.

The Rams, the NFC’s No. 5 seed, advanced with a tense 20-17 overtime win over the Chicago Bears. Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford has been central to their postseason run, amassing significant passing yards and key performances under pressure.

Los Angeles has split its regular-season meetings with Seattle and will now face its rival in a contest with far more at stake. The Rams could become only the sixth team in NFL history to win three road playoff games and reach the Super Bowl as a Wild Card entry — a rare accomplishment.

The rivalry between the Rams and Seahawks dates to the mid-1970s and has produced tight contests over the decades. The teams have met more than 50 times, including multiple playoff matchups with postseason bragging rights on the line.

For Seattle, a win would extend its return path to the Super Bowl era that began with its first championship appearance in early 2014. For Los Angeles, a victory would mark its next conference title since the 2021 season and could set up a rematch with an AFC title winner in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8.

Kickoff is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. EST and will be televised nationally on FOX, with the conference champions earning a spot in Super Bowl LX.
