SIAC Hosts 2025 Football Media Day in Macon
MACON, Ga. — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opened its 2025 football season preparations with a dynamic media day event Tuesday at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon. Representatives from all 13 SIAC football programs gathered to preview the upcoming season through panel discussions moderated by veteran sports journalist Marvin L. James II, who brings 25 years of experience to his current role as Georgia High School Association Director of Media Relations.
SIAC Commissioner Anthony Holloman, Ed.D., emphasized the energy surrounding the event. "The excitement in the room was palpable as the road to a championship begins here!" Holloman noted. "Football media day always brings together the best of the best, young men who excel on and off the playing fields while representing their respective institutions with dignity, humility and a competitive fire."
The gathering featured a special appearance by 2022 SIAC MVP Emanuel Wilson, a Fort Valley State alumnus now in his third season with the Green Bay Packers. Wilson welcomed attendees and introduced the 2025 predicted order of finish video. During his standout 2022 campaign, Wilson rushed for 1,371 yards and 17 touchdowns on 209 carries, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt while earning SIAC MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors. His exceptional performance also garnered second-team Division II All-American recognition from the American Football Coaches Association.
Beyond media activities, SIAC teams demonstrated their commitment to community service Monday at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, organizing donations and completing essential tasks as part of the league's Community Service Day initiatives, showcasing the student-athletes' dedication both on and off the field.
