Wake Forest Releases 2026-27 Women's Non- Conference Basketball Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest women's basketball announced its 2026-27 non-conference schedule Friday, with nine of the Demon Deacons' 13 games set for LJVM Coliseum.

Wake Forest opens the season Nov. 2 against USC Upstate, beginning a seven-game homestand that continues with Presbyterian on Nov. 5, Mercer on Nov. 8, UNCW on Nov. 12, Elon on Nov. 15, Appalachian State on Nov. 19 and Wofford on Nov. 23.

The Demon Deacons will play four games outside North Carolina, starting with the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, where they face Quinnipiac on Nov. 28 and host school Arizona State on Nov. 29. Wake Forest then travels to Arkansas on Dec. 3 for the fourth annual SEC/ACC Challenge before a road game at Auburn on Dec. 6.

The non-conference slate closes with home games against UNC Asheville on Dec. 16 and Furman on Dec. 22.

Wake Forest enters its fifth season under coach Megan Gebbia after going 14-9 in 2025-26 and opening the year with nine straight wins — the program's best start since the 2008-09 season. The Demon Deacons were the last unbeaten team in the ACC last season and one of 28 teams nationally to win their first nine games, before advancing to the 2026 WNIT.

Six players return from last season's roster: Aurora Sørbye, Mary Carter, Opal Bird, Madisyn Jordan, Grace Galbavy and Savannah Metcalfe. Carter, a forward, was the team's second-leading scorer at 11.0 points per game and led Wake Forest in three-pointers made and free-throw percentage. Sørbye led the team in assists while appearing in all 32 games, and Bird tied for the team lead in blocks as a freshman while ranking second among ACC first-year players in assists per game.

The Demon Deacons added seven scholarship newcomers, including four freshmen and three transfers. Freshman guard Oshauna Holland enters as North Carolina high school girls basketball's all-time leading scorer and was named the state's Gatorade and Ms. Basketball player of the year after averaging 34.0 points per game as a senior. Fellow freshman Adora Nwude helped lead Bullis School to the Chipotle National Championship game, while forward Helena Danielewicz and center Awele Okoh both bring international experience from Poland and Nigeria, respectively.

Among the transfers, graduate guard Breauna Ware joins from Wisconsin after previous stops at Stony Brook and St. Bonaventure, redshirt junior Ramiyah Byrd arrives from Cincinnati, and redshirt sophomore forward Mckenzie Swanson transfers in from Butler.

Season tickets are on sale now, priced at $60 for adults, $49 for seniors and $49 for youth ages 3-18.
