The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl is officially coming to Atlanta.

The Black College Football Hall of Fame announced that its nationally recognized postseason all-star showcase will relocate to Atlanta beginning in 2027, bringing one of the premier celebrations of Historically Black Colleges and Universities football, culture, and professional development to one of the nation's most influential sports cities.

The move signals a major step forward for the event, which has grown into far more than a football game. While the annual bowl continues to spotlight top NFL Draft-eligible talent from HBCUs across the country, it has also become a powerful platform for career advancement, networking, and educational opportunities.

The 2027 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl Career Fair will take place on Friday, February 26, followed by the game itself on Saturday, February 27. Additional information regarding tickets and week-long events is expected to be announced in the coming months.

Atlanta's selection as the new host city comes with significant advantages. With nearly 50 HBCUs located within driving distance, organizers believe the move will dramatically expand participation in the event's career programming while strengthening connections to the rich traditions and legacy of HBCU culture.

Atlanta Provides the Perfect Stage

For years, Atlanta has served as a hub for Black excellence in sports, business, entertainment, and education. Now, it will become the home of one of the most important events celebrating HBCU student-athletes and future professionals.

Super Bowl XXII MVP and Black College Football Hall of Fame co-founder Doug Williams believes the move will elevate every aspect of the event.

"Atlanta represents tremendous growth and opportunity for the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl and the young people we serve," Williams said. "We believe this next chapter will elevate the experience for our students, fans, partners, and NFL scouts while continuing to honor the proud traditions and lasting impact of HBCU football."

Atlanta's world-class event infrastructure, corporate presence, thriving HBCU alumni community, and national visibility make it an ideal destination for an event that continues to grow each year.

More Than a Football Game

While NFL scouts and executives closely monitor the talent showcased during Legacy Bowl week, the event's impact stretches far beyond the field.

One of the centerpiece attractions is the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl Career Fair, widely regarded as the largest HBCU-focused career fair in the country. The event creates direct pathways for students and graduates to connect with employers, business leaders, and career development resources.

That commitment to professional growth has become a defining feature of Legacy Bowl week and a major reason for its continued expansion.

Allstate Extends Its Commitment

Alongside the relocation announcement, the Black College Football Hall of Fame revealed that Allstate has extended its title sponsorship of the event.

The partnership extension reinforces the company's continued investment in HBCU students, student-athletes, and future professionals while helping the Legacy Bowl expand its reach both on and off the field.

Black College Football Hall of Fame co-founder James 'Shack' Harris praised the partnership's impact on the event's growth.

"We are deeply grateful to Allstate for its continued commitment to, and belief in, the mission of the HBCU Legacy Bowl," Harris said. "Their support has helped us grow this event into a premier platform that creates opportunities for HBCU student-athletes and connects students and graduates with meaningful career pathways."

Looking Ahead to 2027

The move to Atlanta represents a significant milestone for the Legacy Bowl as it continues to strengthen its position as one of the most important showcases in HBCU athletics.

With NFL scouts evaluating the next generation of professional talent, students building career connections, and thousands of fans celebrating Black college football excellence, Atlanta is poised to provide a fitting backdrop for the event's next chapter.

When the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl arrives at Center Parc Stadium in February 2027, it won't simply be a football game—it will be a week-long celebration of opportunity, culture, and the enduring impact of HBCUs across the nation.
