Clemson Holds Off Virginia Tech 72–65 Behind Strong Second Half

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson Tigers men's basketball used a strong defensive effort in the second half to defeat the Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball 72–65 Wednesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum.

After a tightly contested first half, Clemson found its rhythm behind its backcourt leadership and improved ball movement. The Tigers entered halftime with a narrow advantage before gradually creating separation midway through the second half.

Guard Chase Hunter led Clemson with 18 points and four assists, attacking the paint and knocking down timely perimeter shots. Forward PJ Hall added 16 points and eight rebounds, anchoring Clemson’s interior presence on both ends of the floor.

Virginia Tech kept the game close throughout the night thanks to efficient scoring from its backcourt, but Clemson’s defensive pressure forced key turnovers in the final minutes.

With the Hokies attempting a late comeback, Clemson converted critical free throws down the stretch to secure the ACC victory.

The win helped Clemson maintain momentum in conference play as the Tigers continued their push toward postseason positioning.
