Clemson Stuns No. 9 Duke with Late Three-Pointer in 53–51 Upset
CLEMSON, S.C. — A dramatic final possession lifted the Clemson Tigers women's basketball to one of the biggest wins of the season, as the Tigers upset the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils women's basketball 53–51 Sunday at Littlejohn Coliseum.
After trailing for much of the afternoon, Clemson surged in the fourth quarter with relentless defense and clutch shot-making. The Tigers outscored Duke 23–12 in the final period to complete the comeback.
With seconds remaining, Clemson guard Hannah Kohn delivered the defining moment of the game, knocking down a go-ahead three-pointer with just over three seconds left to give Clemson the lead and ignite the home crowd.
Duke controlled much of the early action, jumping out to a 20–8 first-quarter lead behind disciplined offense and strong rebounding. But Clemson gradually chipped away at the deficit with defensive stops and improved shot selection.
The Tigers’ defense locked in down the stretch, limiting Duke’s scoring opportunities and forcing contested shots in the closing minutes.
The win pushed Clemson to 19–9 overall and 10–6 in ACC play while snapping Duke’s 17-game winning streak in dramatic fashion.
