Davaughn Patterson Named to Senior Bowl Watch List as Wake Forest DB Eyes NFL Opportunity
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest defensive back Davaughn Patterson is beginning the 2026 season with another significant piece of recognition as he looks to build on a productive junior campaign.

Patterson was named to the 2026 Panini Senior Bowl Watch List, placing the Demon Deacon defensive back among the college football players being monitored ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft process.
The recognition comes after Patterson earned 2025 All-ACC Honorable Mention honors while establishing himself as one of Wake Forest's most dependable defenders.
Patterson Coming Off Career-Best Season
Patterson appeared in all 13 games for Wake Forest during the 2025 season and finished with 80 tackles, including 35 solo stops, nine passes defended, four tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
His production in coverage stood out.
Patterson's nine passes defended led Wake Forest and ranked sixth in the ACC, while his 753 defensive snaps ranked sixth in the conference.
Those numbers helped establish Patterson as a key component of the Demon Deacons' defense and earned him recognition among the league's top defensive backs.
His strongest performance came against SMU, when Patterson recorded seven tackles, three pass breakups and a forced fumble in a Wake Forest victory.
The performance earned him ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors as well as a spot on Pro Football Focus' Team of the Week.
Experience Could Be Patterson's Biggest Asset
Patterson enters the 2026 season with significant experience already under his belt.
The Jacksonville, Florida, native has appeared in 29 games over the last three seasons, accumulating 163 tackles, 12 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one interception.
That experience, combined with his ability to consistently contribute against the pass and run, gives Patterson an opportunity to strengthen his NFL Draft résumé throughout the upcoming season.
The Senior Bowl watch-list selection is another indication that his performance has begun attracting attention beyond the ACC.
The Senior Bowl serves as one of college football's premier postseason all-star showcases, bringing top NFL Draft prospects together in Mobile, Alabama, for an important evaluation opportunity in front of professional scouts, coaches and executives.

The Senior Bowl recognition is not Patterson's only preseason honor entering 2026.
He has also been named to the Athlon Preseason All-ACC Third Team and Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team.
