ACC Lands 10 Players on 2026 Biletnikoff Award Watch List
The Atlantic Coast Conference will enter the 2026 college football season with plenty of receiving talent under the spotlight.
Ten ACC players have been named to the 2026 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List, placing the conference among just three leagues nationally with double-digit selections for the prestigious award.
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, which created and sponsors the Biletnikoff Award, announced a 45-player preseason watch list featuring some of the nation's top pass catchers.
The ACC's 10 selections represent eight different programs, with California and Miami leading the conference with two players apiece.

With all 10 ACC selections listed as wide receivers, the conference enters the season with a significant collection of perimeter playmakers capable of influencing games from the opening weekend.
Miami is represented by two players in Barkate and Toney, while California also has a pair of honorees in Hendricks and Strong.
The recognition adds another layer to what is expected to be a competitive 2026 ACC season, particularly for quarterbacks relying on experienced targets to create explosive plays.
Biletnikoff Award Highlights College Football's Best Receivers
Established in 1994, the Biletnikoff Award honors the most outstanding FBS receiver in college football.
Despite its traditional association with wide receivers, the award is open to any player who catches a pass, including tight ends, slot backs and running backs.
The award is based on a player's performance during the season, meaning inclusion on the preseason watch list is only the beginning. Additional players can be added as the season progresses and their production warrants consideration.
That makes the early recognition significant, but hardly definitive.
The players on this year's list will have the opportunity to turn preseason expectations into weekly production as the 2026 campaign unfolds.
ACC Entering Another Competitive Season
The Biletnikoff recognition comes as the ACC prepares for another challenging football season.
ACC teams are scheduled to play 25 nonconference games against Power Four opponents and Notre Dame, the most of any conference. The schedule includes nine games against the SEC, five against the Big Ten, five against the Big 12 and six against Notre Dame.
Two-thirds of the league's nonconference schedule features either Power Four opponents or teams that earned bowl eligibility in 2025.
The conference is also preparing for a major opening stretch, with 14 teams scheduled to compete in 12 games across five days during Labor Day weekend, from Sept. 3-7.
SMU's visit to Florida State on Labor Day Monday will mark the ACC's 17th consecutive appearance on Labor Day, excluding the 2020 season, and its 20th since 2005.
The ACC will also feature a record 15 Friday games during the 2026 season.
Wide Receivers Will Be Tested Early
The quality of the ACC's receiving corps will face plenty of opportunities to prove itself against strong competition.
The conference has scheduled 12 nonconference games against teams ranked in ESPN's 2026 Way-Too-Early Top 25, along with 12 games against teams that appeared in the final 2025 College Football Playoff rankings and AP Top 25.
That level of competition could provide the stage for the ACC's Biletnikoff candidates to separate themselves from the national field.
The conference is coming off a 2025 season in which seven teams recorded at least nine wins, the most in a single season in ACC history. Nine ACC programs finished with eight or more victories, tying the FBS record and setting a new conference mark.
Road to the Biletnikoff Award
The 2026 Biletnikoff Award race will become clearer as the season progresses.
The award's semifinalists will be announced Nov. 16, followed by the announcement of three finalists on Nov. 24.
The 2026 winner will be announced Dec. 11 during ESPN's The Home Depot College Football Awards.
For the ACC's 10 preseason selections, the path starts now.
The watch list recognition establishes the expectations. The challenge will be turning that recognition into consistent production against some of the nation's toughest competition.
With eight programs represented, the ACC has plenty of opportunities to produce a Biletnikoff Award finalist — and potentially its next winner.
2026 ACC Championship Game
The ACC's football season will ultimately culminate at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday, Dec. 5.
The championship game is scheduled for noon ET on ABC, marking the 14th consecutive year and 18th time overall that the ACC title game will be televised on ABC.
The conference championship has aired on either ABC or ESPN every year since its inaugural season in 2005.
