Morehouse Wins 2026 SIAC Championship, Defeats Tuskegee

MORROW, Ga. — The Morehouse Maroon Tigers men’s basketball captured the 2026 SIAC Men's Basketball Tournament championship with a 66–56 victory over Tuskegee on March 7 at the Clayton County Convocation Center.

The win marked Morehouse’s first SIAC tournament title since 2003, ending a 23-year championship drought for the historic program.

Morehouse controlled the pace throughout the contest, relying on disciplined defense and efficient half-court offense to keep Tuskegee from gaining momentum.

The Maroon Tigers built a lead in the second half and maintained control down the stretch with strong rebounding and key defensive stops.

The championship victory also marked a milestone for head coach Larry Dixon, who secured the conference title in his first season leading the program.

With the win, Morehouse earned the SIAC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Players and coaches celebrated on the court following the final buzzer as the Maroon Tigers cut down the nets and completed their championship run.
