Wake Forest Women’s Basketball to Host UNCG in Exhibition
The Demon Deacons will give fans an early look at the 2026-27 roster when UNCG visits LJVM Coliseum on Oct. 25.
Wake Forest women’s basketball will get its first chance to take the floor in front of home fans ahead of the 2026-27 season when the Demon Deacons host UNCG in an exhibition Sunday, Oct. 25 at LJVM Coliseum.
Tipoff is set for 5 p.m., with admission and parking free for fans. Parking lots will open two hours before tipoff.
Fans will also have an opportunity to meet the team following the exhibition, with a postgame autograph session scheduled in the lower bowl with Wake Forest players.

A Seven-Game Homestand Starts the Season
Wake Forest enters the upcoming campaign with a 13-game nonconference schedule, including seven consecutive home contests to open the season.
The Deacs will hit the road for the SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 3 against Arkansas, followed by a trip to face Auburn. Wake Forest will close its nonconference schedule with home games against UNC Asheville and Furman in December.
The Demon Deacons' 18-game ACC schedule includes nine home games against:
Clemson, SMU, Pitt, Stanford, Cal, Louisville, Boston College, Duke and NC State.
The nine conference road opponents are:
Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Virginia, NC State, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and Syracuse.
Six Returners Anchor the Roster
Wake Forest enters the season with six returning players, led by Mary Carter, who was the team's leading scorer last season at 11.0 points per game.
Carter also led the Deacs with 70 3-pointers and an .864 free-throw percentage.
Aurora Sørbye returns after leading the team in assists with 95 last season, while Opal Bird tied Carter for the team lead in blocks with 21 and ranked second among ACC freshmen with 2.8 assists per game.
Madisyn Jordan, Grace Galbavy and Savannah Metcalfe round out the returning group.
Galbavy appeared in 20 games as a freshman and produced 11 points against NC State before recording a season-high five blocks in the WNIT first round. Metcalfe played in 14 games before an injury ended her season.
Six Newcomers Join the Deacs
Wake Forest also welcomes six scholarship newcomers to the program.
Freshman guard Oshauna Holland arrives as the all-time leading scorer in North Carolina high school girls basketball and was named the 2026 N.C. Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
The incoming class also includes Adora Nwude, who helped Bullis School reach the 2026 Chipotle National Championship game, and Polish forward Helena Danielewicz, who competed for Poland at the 2026 FIBA U-18 Women's EuroBasket.
The Deacs added college experience with graduate guard Breauna Ware, who has appeared in 84 career games across Wisconsin, Stony Brook and St. Bonaventure.
Ramiyah Byrd joins Wake Forest after three seasons at Cincinnati, while Mckenzie Swanson arrives from Butler after two seasons with the Bulldogs.
Building Toward Opening Night
The exhibition against UNCG will offer Wake Forest an early opportunity to put its returning core and six-player newcomer class on the court together before the regular season begins.
The Deacs are entering Year 5 of the Megan Gebbia era after a 2025-26 season that included a 9-0 start — the program's best opening stretch since 2008-09 — and a return to the WNIT.
Opening Night is scheduled for Nov. 2.
