There’s something magical about winning a Homecoming game, and Florida A&M delivered that magic Saturday at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The Rattlers put on a show, steamrolling Texas Southern 52-28 and keeping their dreams of a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title very much alive.

Florida A&M University (FAMU) suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling to the University of Miami Hurricanes, 56-9, in a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) versus Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) matchup at Hard Rock Stadium. Under the leadership of head coach Colziee II, the Rattlers now sit at 2-1. Known for his defensive background, Coach Colziee would have hoped for a more competitive showing, especially on defense, against a strong ACC contender.

Coming into tonight’s game, the topic of discussion was whether the Rattlers could continue their current winning streak at Bragg Memorial. The running statement is that they do not lose at Bragg, and even though they consider every stadium "Bragg," everyone knows that protecting the home field is the main objective.

MEAC/SWAC Kickoff Challenge hosted at Centre Parc Stadium in Atlanta, GA kicked off at 7:43 pm. The time was now to prove who would take home the trophy at the end of the night. Both teams with much to prove came out ready to go- it was Florida A&M against Norfolk State.
